Meditation is Best

 9-4-22

Go slow to move fast. There are always things that need to be picked up and put away, the magic art of tidying up. It’s what you do when no one's looking. If you only have 15 minutes in the spotlight, it’s what you do in preparation that matters most. Always worried about how I spend my time and am I using it effectively. No need to worry. No more excuses. I have a wealth of time.

Creativity doesn’t happen in a vacuum. I’m being guided by my spirit guides. They have no names, a rose by any other name will smell as sweet, but they each have distinct personalities. There are my ancestors, my grandparents, and Amir’s grandparents. There’s the physics professor, the dancer, the two logic professors. They each help in my daily choices. Then there’s me, I decide everything.

Why 5 min daily meditations help? Helps declutter the mind, sift through the noise and find what’s truly important. See what I’m thinking and let it go. Put my self-help books information to good use. My mind is blank, but not really blank. I can’t access the subconscious, it’s on autopilot, time to reprogram old, stale, negative thought patterns. I can do anything I set my mind to. Ask why and what you want and your mind will start contemplating the solution to your vision. Why am I so healthy?

I recommend meditation for everyone, it calms the troubled soul. There’s no right or wrong way, good or bad. Let it flow like water smoothing over rocks, creating new grooves in the stone. Family is the most important. Don’t force things, experiment and let things be. My head is buzzing with questions, with static, with noise. How can I do better? How can I be better? Don’t be so impatient. Be patient with yourself.

Everyone goes at their own pace. It’s not really a race, there is no finish line, it’s only in your mind. There’s always stuff to be gone. I’m getting out of the rat race. I am the cheese and it feels amazing. Time is of the essence and I have time as my ally. I have so much presence, and with meditation, I have peace of mind.

What brings you peace of mind?

SAVERS Saves Me

What is SAVERS?

SAVERS stands for Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, and Scribe (Writing).

Every day I put these disciplines into practice. They come from Hal Elrod's, The Miracle Morning, which I highly recommend.

My morning routine looks something like this:

  • First, I wake up using Mel Robbins' 5 second rule and countdown 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 get up. This rule encourages action. It's the simple things, that we all know intuitively, which have the most impact.
  • Next, I eat breakfast because I am hungry first thing in the morning.
  • Then I do 5 minutes of guided meditation on Insight Timer, which is free and I highly recommend downloading (there are so many great meditations). It helps me to clear my mind from all the noise and clutter.
  • Then, I do walk at home with Leslie Sansone, a 15-minute mile. There's always time for 15 minutes of exercise.
  • Next, I read 10 pages of a self-help book. Today I'm reading Jeff Olson's, The Slight Edge, which I highly recommend because it ties all the other self-help books together. It helps me with its philosophy to take action on the small, positive disciplines and choices that I make every day. Depending on your choices it grows exponentially either in a positive or negative direction.
  • After, I write my 3-morning pages like Julia Cameron in the Artists Way. I still don't know what to do with all of these pages, but she doesn't recommend keeping them. They also take up space and lead to clutter. It's more to focus my thoughts and practice gratitude or brain dump what to do for the day.
  • Finally, I take 5 more minutes and make a daily plan with the MIT Most Important Task of the day. Today it's learning Hebrew.

After all this, I'm ready to face the day with openness and a smile.

What is your morning routine and how is it working for you?
